Lack of resources and connections pose a huge challenge for emerging black film-makers to generate and produce independent content for distribution.

To this end the SA FILM Academy partners with the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) Lotto funding, the Media Information Communication Technology Seta (MICTSeta) and the private sector in the production of primarily short documentaries and dramas as well as co-funding features.

The SA FILM Academy has an online content-generation hub with a focus on developing life, occupational and entrepreneurial skills development in the turn-key, independent production of primarily short films and inserts written, produced and directed by SA FILM Academy interns, trainees, alumni and mentors and distributed via the World Wide Web, on our YouTube page KWAAI CITY.
